Eng Ddungu is an accomplished Engineer with over 20 years of experience in Telecommunications Management and Information Technology. He holds a Computer Science Degree from Alabama (AAMU) University and a Masters in Telecommunications from the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Washington University in St. Louis. His extensive experience includes leading Technology Systems Development and Management initiatives.
Previously, he served as an Information Technology specialist at Anheuser-Busch (Inbev) for ten years, overseeing manufacturing network systems across multiple locations globally, with landing sites in St. Louis, Missouri, USA; North London in the United Kingdom; and Wuhan in China. In 2008, he transitioned to the telecommunications sector in East Africa, where he played a pivotal role in introducing the first optic fiber network in Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, and Eastern DRC. During this time, he also worked on the Mobile Money Platform Strategy in collaboration with Telecom service providers, Commercial Banks, the Central Bank (Bank of Uganda), and the Regulator (Uganda Communications Commission. This partnership saw the bath of Mobile Money in Uganda, which continues to transform lives, the economy, and the entire business ecosystem in the Region.
Upon returning to the United States, Eng Ddungu assumed Technology leadership positions at prominent companies such as Lumen (CenturyLink), Spectrum Enterprises, and Amazon. Additionally, Eng Ddungu co-founded Africaleo Inc Ltd alongside his (OB) associates Timothy Katende, the Late Paul Ssebuwufu (RIP), and Ms. Sarah Nabikolo. The enterprise does business in Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Education. He also serves on the executive team at UGICOM ENTERPRISES (U) LTD, where he transformed the Engineering, Business Operations, and Business Development teams. Their remarkable growth has facilitated the securement of numerous contracts with international businesses across various industries, including telecommunications, oil and gas, civil engineering, and utility services.
Eng Ddungu is married to Ednah and together with their children they enjoy spending time in Uganda and North Carolina, USA
